The Lake Chapala Duplicate Bridge Club encourages players of all skill levels, from complete beginners through masters, to learn and improve their game.

Most organized bridge games assume you have a basic understanding of the game. If you know what a trick is, how to bid in a basic aution, and how to play the hand with a dummy, then you are probably OK to play at any of the games. You should choose the game from the Lakeside Bridge page that you feel best suits your skill level.

At this website you will find software to help you learn and practice as well as various tutorials on how to play bridge, scoring, duplicate fundamentals and more. You might also look at some of the online bridge gaming sites such as bridgebase.com (free) and OKbridge.com ($$). Each of these has practice rooms for you to learn and improve your skills.

Resources for those of you who already play the game

For the novice player, the LCDBC 99'er game, held each Friday morning at our club is designed for players with a basic knowledge of the game. Each session starts with a 15 minute tutorial or discussion on a bridge topic to refresh fundamentals or to introduce new concepts and techniques to help players develop their game skills. Players are expected to come to the games with a partner but if you don't have one don't let that stop you. Feel free to send in a partnership request using the form on the main menu, or e-mail the game director This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
